Wendy Bristow, Adv. Dip, BA, MBACP
Wendy Bristow is a qualified psychotherapist with seven years’ experience in counselling and therapy and over 20 working one-to-one as an executive coach. She first trained in psychotherapy in Australia, then qualified at WPF Therapy – one of the leading training centres in the UK. She practices as a psychodynamic therapist which works with the concept that we don’t always know why we do what we do, much of it has to do with unconscious patterns which need to be uncovered and worked with in therapy. She has also trained in mindfulness and bereavement counselling and worked for Cruse Bereavement Care for three years.
Because of her background coaching in the workplace, one area of expertise is the way problems at work can reflect repeating patterns from childhood – for example, always having issues with male bosses. Wendy also has experience of working with bereavement and loss, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, anger and loneliness. She also has extensive experience with pain and chronic illness.
Wendy is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and a member of the Foundation for Psychotherapy.
