Dr Simon Draycott CPsychol
Simon has been working as a Psychologist since 1991. He started life as a Business Psychologist and has continued to work with organisations to support and get the best from employees. He later qualified as a Counselling Psychologist with Regent’s University in London and is both a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a Registered Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
His approach to counselling is best described as integrative in that he draws from a number of counselling models including person-centred therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), transactional analysis, motivational interviewing and existential-phenomenology.
Simon specialises in the following areas: addiction, anxiety, depression, HIV and sexual health mid-life crisis, self-esteem, sexuality, work and career issues including redundancy and stress management.
Simon works with both individuals and couples and offers a free, initial session to ensure that clients and he are comfortable working together. Sessions may then continue for several weeks or several months or more, depending on the needs of each client.
If you are seeking counselling through a third party, Simon is registered with a number of health insurance and Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) providers.
As well as private practice, Simon works as a counsellor with the Terrence Higgins Trust charity.
