Petronella Philips Devaney
Petronella Phillips Devaney MA, Dip.SoPH, MBACP Reg., FCMI is a psychotherapist and counsellor who works in organisational and NHS settings in addition to private practice.
She studied and trained in analytical psychotherapy and psychodynamic counselling at SoPH (the Society for Psychology and Healing) and has a post-qualifying master’s degree from Middlesex University in Psychotherapy. She has also trained in relationship counselling, EFT (Emotionally Focussed Therapy), and Mindfulness Based Therapies. She is a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and works to the BACP code of ethics.
Petronella’s special interests as a therapist include Jungian psychology, couple counselling, psycho-sexual therapy, and family counselling. She works with her clients across a full spectrum of presenting issues, ranging from life crises concerning illness, relationship breakdown, bereavement and loss, bullying, domestic abuse and sexual problems, to addiction, eating disorders, depression, personality disorders, and guidance in personal development. Her style is integrative, focusing on the individual needs of each client, couple or group.
In addition to her clinical work, Petronella gives a range of seminars and workshops, and she is a published novelist and poet.
