Janey is a fully qualified Integrative Arts Psychotherapist. She graduated from The Institute of Arts in Therapy and Education, is HCPC registered and a member of the BACP.
Theoretical approaches utilised include humanistic, Gestalt, transactional
analysis, existential and psychodynamic. She is also trained in transformative dream work and is a long-term mindfulness practitioner. This means that she is able to offer an integrated treatment plan depending on the needs of each individual client.
With a background in music, Janey has a particular interest in non-verbal communication and sensory integration and has found that working with the arts alongside talking therapy can lead to deeper access to long-lasting change. When focussing on creativity, play and the imagination there are many opportunities for the exploration of thoughts, feelings and behaviours using a variety of art mediums as well as breath and bodywork.
For the past 5 years Janey has worked within the field of complex needs,
including learning disabilities, addiction and trauma. She also has experience with cancer care, bereavement and loss, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, personality problems, isolation and loneliness, relationship issues and lack of direction and motivation.
Her current clinical work draws on contemporary neuroscientific practices and she has found that techniques for managing self-regulation can help her
clients to live more aware, meaningful and authentic lives.
